i think my whole problem is i have to get my shift rod back in the cradle.Dont know how this is gonna work out cause that cradle is very lose on the shift shaft and rotates very easy.If i could get my shift rod out of my engine i could guide it into the cradle.

I never took any of my cables up on the engine off.Never messed with any of that just the lower unit when i put seals in it.I think i need to get that cradle back on top of my shift shaft.Does this sound like it would fix my problem,the schematic i look at shows the cradle on top of the shift shaft.So pretty much have to take my whole lower unit bearings out again >.<

I didnt take the cables off.What you think about what i said with the shift cradle does it need to go on top of shifter shaft?Think that may be my problem.

I took the engine cover off all the linkages up there seems to work right both cables move with the gear shifter.One moves for reverse and one moves with foward.You mentioned the shift cradle that needs to be on top of shifter shaft right?and its the screw on the side of gearcase towards front bottom.

Ive been having problems getting my shifting working right again since,i put a lower seal kit in my motor.Its a 1989 evinrude 48spl.I was having problems getting the screw that holds your shift rod linkage together back in,but i have moved on from that problem.Got the screw in but now when i move my shift lever, forward is where reverse is and i have nothing where forward should be.When i move it where reverse is the prop locks,but if i move anywhere forward of that it spins free.Anyone please tell me whats wrong,gonna be spring soon and would like to use my boat.

Here is a easy way to strip line off your reel.Find a straight stick in your yard,put one end in the chuck of a drill.Tie your tag end off your line to the stick and pull trigger of drill.Easy clean up to just toss stick in the trash.

I've been a die hard berkley line user pretty much my whole fishing career.I've used both xl xt,pretty much same as the other post one tough one is weak.As far as the mention of maxx and big game.I like big game alot but has some memory issues.Maxx seems good to me as well.

Been looking into buying a bass boat ran across a brand ive never heard of.It is a 16ft. peterson bass boat,was just wondering if any1 out there knows of these and could tell me the good bad and ugly.

Other than the memory the stuff is great.I use 12# on a regular the only mono i use anymore.Just to let you guys know berkley max is pretty good stuff to.

Hey Chris I bought this as a combo was a mitchell combo that cost like 50$.So yea probably bout the same quality as yours,so dont jump on the shimano bandwagon your mitchell will treat you fine.Just take of it unlike I did.If I'd had taken care of mine probably be still using it.Like I said I put mine through hell and lasted me 10yrs.Just cause its from walmart and only cost you 20$ doesnt mine it wont last.Unless you are catching 5-10lbs bass all the time or catching reel busting cats on it.

Instead of buying scents in a bottle make your own and soak your plastics in it.Here's one take vegatable oil some garlic and salt put in a plastic bag then put your plastics in it let it soak.Turns out just as good has spary and stays on longer cause it soaks into your baits.

I had a mitchell fulcrum spinning combo that i never cleaned didnt take the best care of (I was a teenager didnt care bout my stuff hey if it breaks ill go buy new :.But for not cleaning it and not taking the best care of it and a teenager using it lasted me 10yrs.So if you clean it and take of it should last you awhile.

It came out of a lake by my mom&dad's house was dug out for fill dirt for a road.I was waiting cause I know the guy who owend the land and knew he put fish in it.So I waited about three years fished a couple times nothing,then the next year I fished a culprit 7" worm and boom a three lber.I knew from that point on this lake was ready and oh yea it was.Have pulled many 5+ lbers out of it.

Dont know how shallow you're wanting to go or how much you are willing to spend but little johns are good.They dont rattle so its different then most cranks.They dive 3'-5' and cost around 10$.
