GSP took a solid Hoof to the Squash in the 3rd but still managed to retain the belt.

Most of the fights were ok. Not bad though. I will say that was the bloodiest welterweight fight. I think I have ever seen.

Years ago hockey was the bloodiest sport. Most of it being from the goalies. Heck it was so bad, players got transfusions between shifts. OK, that's a bit of a stretch.

All you need to know is that goalies did not wear masks during that era. I'm not sure if Gerry Cheevers was the first to wear a mask, but it was unique. It was white, and every time the mask got hit with a puck stitches were painted onto the mask in the area where it was hit.

I am a hockey fan. But I do not know if I have ever seen this munch blood. Well other then wrestlers cutting them self's. At one time almost his whole face was covered in blood.

This is what the champ looked like post fight. 141_georges_st-pierre.0_standard_352.0.jpg

You guys know what this means, right? Anderson Silva VS GSP. Possibly sometime in March of next year at Cowboys stadium in Arlington. Silva made it clear he wanted to take a break for a little while but Dana made it clear he WILL fight. If this fight happens, Im gonna be stoked. Although I still dont see anyone on the face of this earth beating Silva, GSP would have about as good a chance as anyone.

Heres to hoping!! :punch-2::drinking-10:

Never heard it put quite like that, made me laugh.

Here's some hockey blood. Freak injury, but he recovered and lived to tell about it.

EDIT: The video is pretty ugly, so I removed it. If you need to see it, google Sabres goalie Clint Malarchuk.

It's probably the one I posted that got removed. It is gory and gruesome. But, at least it was not intentional.

My mother grew up in a family with about fifteen siblings. Her parents were French Canadians. When I was a kid she and her sisters would go to the Rhode Island Reds' hockey games. They were a tough bunch, and unless there was blood on the ice they felt they got cheated. They loved the fighting, and the bleeding.

Hockey was a lot tougher in those days. Goalies didn't wear masks, and all of the players had a lot less protective equipment.

There is an old joke that demonstrated the roughness of hockey in those days.

I went to a fight, and a hockey game broke out.
