The Rain Is Here

Featured Replies

Now that most of us are fishing in the rain (if we're still fishing) - what is your favorite lure to use in the rain?

Depends on how hard it's raining, and what the wind is doing, but I will add glass rattles to my jigs, Sometimes use bladed jigs (like a Chatterbait/Rage Craw), and go with big worms Tx rigged (Thumper, Anaconda, or Recon Worm). If it's a good time for topwater, not much beats a Rage Shad in the rain.

What is this "rain" of which you speak? :Idontknow:

Seriously, I've had great results with a spinnerbait run just under the surface. Black with copper blades has bee my best color. And, like Shane J said, BIG t-rigged worms, primarily in dark colors, black. junebug, and purple.

Spinnerbait or soft plastics in the rain.

If the wind is kicking up pretty bad while its raining, Ill throw a heavy spinnerbait and try to keep it a foot or so below the "valley" of the waves on windblown points. If the wind isnt bad, Ill throw soft plastics with the lightest weight possible, or even weightless, directly into brush piles.

Topwater if its light rain, heavier rain ill go to plastics or spinnerbait...

Rain? We are about 7" below normal for the year here. When it does I like a spinnerbait in white or white/chart.
