Hello From Texas

Featured Replies

Hi, my name is Sam and I live in Houston, TX. I joined back in May but have not been back until today. Most of my fishing is in the bay systems all along the Texas gulf coast, I use only artificial soft plastics and topwaters for speckled trout, redfish and flounder and prefer to wade fish but also do some drift fishing. I do bass fish on lakes Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend but the drive is about 3-4 hrs so I end up staying mainly in the coastal waters. A lot of the gear that I use for coastal fishing is pretty much the same as what is used in the lakes for bass fishing in fact when I bass fish the only thing I take different are my bait selections. I am a big JDM Daiwa freak (Alphas, Pixys and TDZ's) and use Kistler, Dobyns, All Star Titaniums and American Rodsmiths rods. Yes--I am a tackle junkie--living proof of someone who has crossed over to the dark side!! I know this is a Bass fishing site so take it easy on the salty.

:hi:

Welcome to Bass Resource. Even though its a bass site, there are a lot of salt water guys that post in the 'Other Fish Species' forum.

Welcome to the dark side. Lots of Junkies around here. I grew up on the Gulf coast of Louisiana and fished mostly the way that you do. Now, living in Tulsa, I'm a bass phreak.
