Proof Bass Are Unpredictable!!!

Featured Replies

Here in NC weather has been unseasonably warm for December. However it is still winter and the water temps have been 52-56 degrees. In a pond (this part was about 5ft) we fished there was a large downed tree under water. We caught about 6 fish in an hour. One crappie and the rest bass. Here is the kicker, they all bit on a spoon, swim bait minnow, drop shot worm, and slow retrieve top water!!' This is proof that there is no such thing as one specific lure working at one specific time of the year. Love it! Joe

X2. I caught 5 the other day on a wacky senko! They were up shallow because of the beautiful 60 degree weather last weekend.

LOL! This weather is strange. Welcome to NC I guess. I was out today and got bit on a spinnerbait, C-rigged brush hawg, black/blue jig and wacky rigged senko.

I won't have to worry about that here anytime soon. I didn't make it above freezing today and it's in the single digits out right now :(

you guys in NC must have it rough :Idontknow: . Saturday it was 55, today it was 18 and snowing. Illinois sucks.

18?!?!?!!! Whoa!! That's cold. Well fly out to NC and get on my boat. :-) I am always living more people to fish with. Is the water frozen over there?

Good insight about the behavior of a bass.

For such a little creature with a small brain they can really drive us up a wall.

Yes, this time of the year when the bass feel the water temperatures falling they want to "fatten up" for winter and I have found that they will attack and eat many different baits. Some of which you would not think they would be interested in.

I have caught some nice ones in a local pond on a jig and pig; Senkos; Zoom Trick Worms on a Shaky Head; Robo worms on a Drop Shot; they clobbered a white spinnerbait for some unknown reason on a calm day; and of course, lipless crankbaits.

I feel guilty when they bite so well but proud of myself for figurering out the pattern. Of course, there was not pattern other than the bass hitting whatever I threw.

I will admit it was fun.

Hit me up! I'd love to go fishing if you're game. PM me if you're interested.
