Tested a Seaguar Kanzen Braid 20# on Shimano Conquest 100.

Pros:

1. Very thin diameter, thinner than Ohero Braid, as thin as Daiwa Samurai.

2. Smooth

3. Rounded.

Cons:

1. Too thin

2. Snaps too easily.

Recommendation:

Don't bother to buy the 20#, it's a piece of crap.

Made two cast = Two Snapped lined = Good bye two expensive lures.

Called Cabelas to return 2 spools of 300 yrds of 20# and 10# Kanzen.

Were you using a mono or flouro leader ?

Also what rod and lure were you throwing ?

I used Sufix 832 Braid Lo-Vis Green most of this past season - no complaints.

Yes, Sufix 832 is a lot better. Although the Power Pro Slick 8 is better than Sufix 832. It's a lot smoother. I guess my search for better braid is done, I would stick to PP Slick 8 and Sufix 832.

I use the Sufix 832 most of the time in #30 for jigs. I recently switched to PP on one rod and Kanzen #55 for the thick crap. Pulled some fish out of some messy stuff with that stuff. Even caught a few nice size logs too!

If it is like the Daiwa Samurai, then it has a smaller diameter than the other brands in the same strength ratings.

The smaller the diameter those lines have, the less shock strength they have.

BUT the strength rating is more in line with the true strength and is preferred by those wanting to qualify for line class record catches.

A lot of the other superlines have a breaking strength that is a lot more than the label rating.

PP is the way to go. Sorry you lost those $$ lures.

Very true and so do other types of lines, we keep reading Yozuri breaks at a higher number than what's on the label too. IMO if a label says 10# and the line breaks at 20#, you're really using 20# test, but very thin...........a good thing.
