Nice Surprise

Featured Replies

Throwin a fluke this morning at the lake in my development, and this girl destroyed it as it came above a rockpile! I think this may be my first peacock on a plastic. Normally its cranks and topwaters. Either way it made monday for this guy a lot better! Caught a couple buck bass as well that were bustin bait off the shore. I have to go down to north miami wednesday to pick up a holiday gift, bringin a rod with me and hope to come across some fishable water! Happy monday!

Nice peacock......I personally have never caught one on a plastic fluke either. Wanting to look at some different scenery I took a ride into Boca and fished a few places I hadn't been to in quite a while, hoping to find peacocks, I didn't do very good. How many times can I prove this to myself, there is no place like home, I have been doing exceptional well in my own backyard canal.....but always trying to catch something out my normal routine.

Snook, im guilty of the same thing. Bass in my lake have been very productive lately but i always seem to try my luck elsewhere. Maybe its just the challenge of different water. Lgmouth, i caught that in my lake by my house. Im right on the border of cooper city/pembroke pines by hiatus rd. Its a huge lake. Trying to talk my wife into letting me get a kayak so i can work all of the water instead of just what i can cast to. She insisted if i did have a kayak she would never see me again, she knows me too well. Haha

Haha, what is the ol' saying, "The grass isn't always greener?"

Nice P, though. I have caught them on flukes in the Lake Ida chain. not as productive as plugs, but they will work. Anything eratic and fast moving seems to work the best.

Rock Creek? That's where I live in Cooper City. Used to be lots of Ps in the Lake but the freeze plus some indiscriminate and illegal harvesting by some folks did them in. If so, nice to hear they are back.

LOL! I'm married only 2 years so we still enjoy each other's company, haha.

Yes they love anything moving fast. Very hard to get on a fluke, i love gettin them on spooks!

Actually on the other side of sheridan and hiatus. In the cedarwoods development. My father in law lives in rock creek, i've tried a few spots there with minimal success. Just a few small bass, and those just came from the park off the stirling road entrance. The cedarwoods lake holds some big bass. Ive had a few 5lbers out of there. The peacock population there seems ok at best. I see them here and there. Good to meet someone so close to me! Good Luck!
