Academy Sports Swimbait Weight Question

Featured Replies

I bought 9 3 1/2" and 4 1/2" jointed swimabaits. Their webite fails to list the lures weights, any of you know the weights?

I'm not 100% on the weights but I'd guess 1/2oz and 1oz, neither is heavy enough to need special equipment to throw.

Thank you for that info! I saw a video on youtube and the guy was saying the bluegill swimbait was around 4 oz. I didn't think that was the case.

Thanks again!

The 4" bluegill may be half that but it's certainly not a 4oz bait. I'd guess it's probably 1 1/4-1 1/2 ounces. You'll need a little stouter equipment to throw the bigger bluegill bait but a regular MH-H bass rod will work just fine.

i have a mh rod rated at 3/8-1 1/2 oz, should that suffice?
