My Okeechobee Brothers

Featured Replies

So, tomorrow (Friday Jan. 4) I head down toward the Big O from Wilson NC for a week.  I'm picking up two other old fishermen flying into Orlando on Saturday from St. Louis.  I plan to check out potential retirement real estate at Lake Toho on Saturday before heading south to the motherland.

If you see a Triton TR-20 with 3 old guys flailing on the north or east side of the lake that's probably us so please say hello.    Understand the FLW will start their tournament next Thursday.  Guess I'll bring my binoculars so I can pick up some pointers.   I hope the weather and fishing is great cause I'd really like to catch a toad!

Other than getting a little liquid sunshine on Sunday, you should have good weather all week.

I'll be on the lake friday and saturday I'll be in a red Triton with a 200 ETEC

I'll be on the east side J&S on mon in a red cobra

If a 400,000 + acre lake can ever be considered pressured, this will be the weekend. There are multiple large events out of Clewiston on both Saturday and Sunday. So, staying north will be a good idea. Hope your trip is a good one.

Im dropping the kids off at the pool as we speak getting ready to go the the Christian Trail.

Boats everywhere, BFL, Christian Trail, King of Glades, FLW. Most boats Iv seen in a long time.

Sorry I cant hook up Im fishing 2 tournaments today and King of The Glades tomorrow then I got to head back to the jungle on Monday.

Weathers been great. little wind slight overcast moderate temps enjoy and be careful.

Go eat at Shennagins Sports Pub, if you dont like the Burger Ill buy your dinner.

Lee you were a week off with the weather gods they have been eating the banks down.

Just my luck.  I'm going to pick a good weather day and just come down.  I may just bring a rod or two and come fish with you.

You  got it.

Cashed a check Saturday, didn't do squat down south today.

Fished Bfl sat 6.7 and that was a limit and culled twice....lol. Tough fishing only 2 bags over 20lb in 200 boats.

Go to j&s rob? Was going over there for Bfl sat but at launch lake was pretty rough would have taken me close to 2 hours to get there and didn't know how rough it would be in afternoon so stayed on north shore. Left there to early and went flipping mats with no luck. Mikeyballz had 19 something and was top 5 with only 4 fish, knew where he was fishing but seemed wrong to go there. Tough day, was gonna fish gambler tourney sun but had no idea where to go.

Sunday  we caught a million dinks but no big fish.

Saturday we came in 8th up north in the Christian Trail, should have went up there.

Fred I had some nice fish over there but we never went over there because of what I found close to Okee Tanti, keep in mind that's a 100PM weigh in so you have to factor that in your plan, we made made a plan and stuck with it,  it gave us 14lbs and 19 won. So we were a fish away.

In retrospect in the KOG I should have ran up north did the same thing and would have had the time to finish over there. But my partner who was not my regular partner who I fish the Christian Trail with fished the BFL, he came in 40th but had a 6lber and his co angler had a 6lber and came in top 5 I think 2nd, so he wanted to stay south. Plus it was blowing a little in the AM and that was a haul, but it calmed down in the PM. He found a little cut that had thousands of fish in there with an occasional nice one, none Sunday :cry4:

Where you fishing Sunday? I saw a Blue Phoenix going towards the Clewiston Lock at around 230.

No i spent to much money practicing and fishing bfl, and still had nothing i was confident in so i bailed. Thought i might see you on water sat but i guess you were further north than i was, sooner or later we need to hook up

Gar Tracker,

I think I saw you yesterday.  I saw a guy in a Big O fishing the north side of Clewiston channel right before weigh in.  If that was you, we were in the Yellow Maverick on the opposite side of the channel flipping the hyacynth mats.

I talked to Mikey a little bit yesterday.  He only caught four, but obviously they were good sized (19.07lbs total).  He missed big fish on Saturday by 1/100th of a pound...  :(

Good job Mikey!   That was an impressive field at the BFL.

That was me, I was in my buddy's Big O not mine, we finished up there praying for a miracle that never came.

I hear you...we needed a couple miracles.

Gar-tracker... that Phoenix you saw at 2:30pm idled past us twice.  I said to Mike "That guy driving sure looks like Bobby Lane".  It was, I overheard him at the ramp.  I should have asked him for some pointers since the south end of the lake treated us pretty badly too on Sunday.

Sunday's winner had 25 and change.  66 boats total with just a couple weighing 20 lbs if I remember correctly.  We had like 8.5lbs... makes me think of taking up golf again.
