Hello everyone, I have a question that I have asked a lot of people and I still havent gotten any results. I have been fishing a Lake called Lake Mobile In Florida, It is about 15 acres and it is a perfect little private lake and it is rarely fished. My problem is I have tried every method in the book to catch fish and when i do they are not even a pound, Even when the temperature and time is right there still arent any decent bass bites one thing i can say though is that when you go on the lake you see no splashes or pop even if it is mirror like but in the cattails you can hear at least 4-6lb bass biting. What to Do?

Fish in the cattails. Two specific baits that can be fished weedless are the Rage Tail Toad and Menace.

Pitch into the tails. Use a craw style bait on a shank or flipping hook and a 1oz weight pegged with some heavy braid. You gonna have to drag those pigs out of there.

I agree with the previous two posts for sure , sounds like that might be the only cover the bass may have?

sometimes cattails can be too thick to fish in, if thats the case, i would fish the edges of them

Have you considered placing you're own fish holding structures in the lake? Give the Bass an alternative...if you build it fish will come.

If you are catching a lot of dinks the lake is overcrowded with bass and they will not have enough forage to have them grow into bigger bass.

With that said and what you said I agree with the guys: fish in or around the catails. That is where they are living.

Post pics of those monsters when you pull them out!

I agree with Sam about the lake being over crowded. Maybe you can talk to the township about stocking the lake with forage for the bass. The fish you hear hitting the water in the cattails might just be dinks too, ud be surprised at how loud a 2 lb bass can smack the surface.
