i usually only throw plastics from shore everytime im out with the exception of a few cranks or a spinner bait. does anyone else only throw plastics from shore? what do you use?

personally , i keep flukes , ribbon/C/U-tail worms , and now trick sticks with me at all times but im always down to try something new.

I throw, everything you would from a boat, Except fast sinking swimbaits.. I throw all types of plastics, jigs, with and w/o trailers, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits,frogs,cranks, ect, ect. Obvioulsy the conditions dictate what I throw, also the structure would play a part too. For example, I wouldn't throw out any treble hook lures in heavy weeds, you wind up losing way to many lures..don't ask how I know this..

the lakes i fish are mostly clear and its gets to about 4-6ft deep , 10-15ft out from shore with a rocky bottom (if that makes sense) then there is a serious drop off into a jungle of heavy weeds. not sure how deep the water is there , but i would think around 15ft. i could be wrong though.

while i do throw some jigs and shaky heads , it seems everytime i do , they get lost to a snag. so i mostly stick to plastics which wont hurt if i loose a $.25 t-rig and i still catch fish.

You might try some shallow running cranks, and shallow suspending jerk baits..i.e. if the rocks are 8-10 ft deep, get baits that max out at 4-6' deep. Also if the rocks are Big, you can get square lipped cranks that will bounce off the rocks, and create a reaction strike.

For heavy weeds, a jig with a trailer, on Stout rod and at least 55lb braid, you'd be surprised at what you can do with braid..

i do have a few cranks that dive under 6' none with square lips. the shad rap being my #1 and ive been playing with a xrap but havnt got the twitch just right. havnt fished jigs much either since they never produce for me except for one catfish lol.

ive been thinking about picking up some braid but my M and MH rods are baitcasting and i still get some serious backlashes every now and then. i would hate to have to pick those out with braid ;D.

I have never had much problems getting little backlashes out of braid. My fishing buddy backlashes more than me but he gets them out of his braid quick.

i have 15/4 PP braid on my light spinning rig and have got a few wind knots that were a pita to get out. just yesterday i made a hard cast and got the worst nest ive ever seen on my BC and had to cut it out. wasnt a problem though since it was spooled with 10lb big game.  

dont get me wrong , i think i will eventually go with braid on everything , just not now lol.

Like someone said, anything that you use in a boat will work from shore, you just might have to down size so it reaches the right depths. My main shoreline baits are 4" worms, 1/8 jigs, floating rapalas, senkos nd an in line spinner (this is a deadly shoreline baite)

there was quite a few of them in my last order so i would imagine there will be a few this time too. i caught my only jig fish using the beaver as a trailer.

I fish from shore alot and only throw plastics with the exception of jigs. As far as the plastics go I throw anything ragetail. I have caught fish  on all of them. As far as jigs go I usually throw bitsy bugs but I might try some of those GMAN mop jigs. I have heard alot of good things about them lately.

im an avid bank beater, and about the only thing i use is plastics, aside from swimbaits and the occasional topwater. Ive had awsome luck with gitzit tubes rigged with a weedless internal weight. id imagine if you rigged up those tubes from *** with an internal wieght you would have good results. shaky head worms rigged with a gambler giggy head has become a real staple for me. they work almost anywhere! as long as you find where the fish are at of course. as far as stick baits go, they are rather self explanatory. good luck with those ***, they are hard to beat!

I try to throw the more weedless type lures, unless I plan on swimming.  I don't like wasting money on stuck lures.

What I like to use is a Green Pumpkin Zoom Finesse Worm t-rigged with a 2/0 EWG. This is one of the few times I would actually choose a red hook over a black one. Idk why but it has produced more fish. Hope this helps.

i use basicaly all soft plastics and cranks.  i mainly throw senko type baits, zoom finnese worm, and strike king elaztech shakeyhead worms.

Tapertails are great t-rigged or on a shakey head.
