(in store) soft plastic dyes, or if anyone knew of a substitute for colorant such as a paint of some sort. Thanks in advance.

Well good luck on that project.  I live close to the BPS Nat Hdqtrs and they have noting like that.  I have also been to several Cabela stores and nada.

You will probably have to order it.  You have to be careful what you put in plastic.  Make sure it is not water based.  I would imagine the formula for plastic colorant is different from other paints as well.

You MIGHT be able to use some sort of powder or pearl powder from a craft store like michaels.

 

I heard crayons work but cant confirm this

I have heard that using crayons for coloring will work with soft plastic baits. Just put the crayon in as you are heating the plastic.
