Hand Pouring Start Up
Ventilation is a must.... Wear heat proof gloves and make sure you have protective clothing over your arms and legs and body. No matter how careful you think you are being accidents still happen.
-
Injection Molding
Once you start injecting you will want to use it exclusively. Very accurate, quick, and way easier to make fine and detailed soft plastics. If you have a two piece hand pour you may not be able to inject it if the opening is too small. If you is large enough you may have to add an air vent to the bottom of each cavity with a fine file.

Can You Add Scents To Poured Plastics??
You can make your own scent if you have some soft plastic bait oil. Heat the oil and add the scent you want, garlic, coffee, etc.... but it is way easier to purchase it from Bear or other mold maker suppliers. Do not add power bait to your plastisol as it is water based and will cause major problems during heating.

Soft Plastic Colorant
I have heard that using crayons for coloring will work with soft plastic baits. Just put the crayon in as you are heating the plastic.

Shaker Blade Bait
A local fisherman made some like that last year with the hook attached to an o ring. Unfortunately it did not work as hoped, in fact there was way less action of the bait. The hook being able to swing free of the lead head allows the lead head to move while the hook stays relatively still. We were both disappointed.
