  1. Wouldn't happen to be Geist would it?
  2. Welcome and congrats
  3. I checked out the link and they look good and are reasonable on the price. Did anyone in your meeting have any thoughts on the rod? The Hot Rod (rod) caught my attention.
  4. I broke mine about 14" from the top. Good news I now use it in the garage to practice flipping and pitching, just sucks that I paid $100+ for a practice rod.
  5. Good luck...I seen a 5 fish sack that weighed 26.something# last year at Geist and thought that it was a rare feat in Indiana. If iwas was betting on you I would probably bet with the 10.5# goal, but good luck on both.
  6. I went out yesterday here in Indiana and spent half the day not catching anything. I did finally catch a few small ones the biggest being about 13". I located a sloping point that had some light grass at about 10' (the lake is very clear.) I drop shotted with a robo worm. The fish seemed to be suspended about four feet above the grass, I'm guessing they were trying to soak up some of the sun. I had about a 24" leader below my hook. I didn't catch anything else anywhere else on the lake. I tried about everything. That was the only spot and technique that seemed to be working. Hope that helps a little bit.
  7. I bought one two years ago. I fished it for one season and by fall the line guide stopped tracking on the worm gear. I attempted to get it fixed but they don't make replacement parts for the reel. I then called the company and found out that the reel is made by shakesphere. They stated that I could send them $50 and send the reel to them and they would send me another. I chose not to. I did meet a guy at BPS and he stated that if I put some aluminum foil in where the pin goes to track on the worm gear that it might fix my problem. I tried it and it did fix it. I still have the reel but seldom use it. On the other hand the poles don't seem to bad.
  8. I haven't seen any promo's yet and I have been looking to buy.
  9. Just a tip, you might be able to get a local shirt printing company to donate some to you. That kinda stuff is good P.R. for them. Good Luck with the up and coming season.
  10. I bought a Skeet Reese W&M reel when they first came out (back when they cost about $100). I used it for a summer and that fall the line guide quite working on the worm gear. So I had seen an article in a Bass Pro Shops magazine for reel repair. I boxed the reel up had the address on it and was ready to send it. I got to thinking and figured that I needed to call the repair guys and make sure it could be fixed. I called and spoke with a really nice and knowledgeable lady. She told me that they did not do any kind of work on the Skeet Reese reel. She then told me that the actual manufacture of the reel was Shakespeare. She gave me a phone number to their office and I thanked her for her time. I called the office and the first thing I get is a freaking recording telling me that they do not fix nor do they sell replacement parts for the Skeet Reese reel. They did go on and say if you had a broken reel you could send it to them with I do believe $50 dollars and they would send you a new reel. I thought to myself why in the world would I waste $50 on a second reel. I later went to Bass Pro Shops and was buying another reel and was talking with the guy in the reel dept. and he told me that had a similar issue with one of his reels. He told me how to fix the Skeet Reese reel with some aluminum foil. I went home and tried the aluminum foil fix and to my amazement it worked. I still have the reel and the aluminum foil is still holding up.
  11. Lol...sorry just putting it out there.
  12. My boat did that (175 evinrude) and it was the computer.
  13. Do you guys make your own scent or by it pre made, and if so what kind of items do you use to make it?
