Worms Melting Together

Featured Replies

a few weeks ago I opened one of my organizers in the box and had a clump of senkos melted together, but none of the other baits in there where affected, so I figure it was an off batch or something and they got to much heat or something, then this afternoon I went into and organizer to get one out and they were melted together and none of the others. The first ones were gary yamamoto, but the second ones were strike king today so not even the same brand. The whole organizer is senko style worms and none of the others were affected, and even the same ones that were in the gy batch that were still good were in there and fine. I dont get it. Anyone else get this?

You didn't happen to toss in a bait made of elastec plastic did you? Those will melt in a hurry and ruin a whole pack of baits. Other than that I've never seen today's plastic do that. The older plastics used to do it bad if left in direct sunlight but I fish all summer long when it's north of 100 degrees by 9am and never had that happen.

The first ones a few weeks ago were standard gary yamamoto, but yesterday it was the elastic like stretchy strike king senkos. I thought it was weird tho cos I have more than one color of the same kind right next to them and they were fine. I did have em in the back of my truck, but they were in the box out of direct sun. Almost seems like some clear substance leaked out. In both cases it where the head tips that melted together.
