So the first rod and reel that we got was little zebco combo. Will BPS take that for the reel trade in deal? Or is it not worth enough? Guessing no.

So long as it works, it's good enough.

I have taken a Zebco and they were happy to take it

The BPS that I used to go to actually sold $5 reels that you could turn around and trade in.

You should be fine with that. I traded in a push button combo I found last year, similar style to the zebco and it worked.

 

I found another rod and reel the other day someone left by a canal in an industrial park that Ill trade in also.
