Moving To Hayward Ca, Any Bass?

Featured Replies

Going to be taking up a new job (hopefully) and the location will be in Hayward CA. Just curoius if there are any good bass fishing lakes around that area. I have never been up there for an extended period of time.

You'll have some decent small lakes around you that get winter plants of trout (= big bass) and the Delta is only about 45 minutes away for some of the best bass fishing in the country. Not too bad!

Look up Andy "Cooch" Cuccia and set up a guide trip on the Delta. Cooch is a wonderful person and great guide who knows how to fish the Delta and area lakes. This will be more than worth the effort.

Welcome to CA.

Lake Chabot in Castro Valley would be the closest, and is a big fish lake.  Castro Valley boarders the city of Hayward and unincorporated Hayward would be a good place to start. And as stated by NorcalBassin, the Delta is about a 45 minute drive. On the way to the Delta on I580, is Shadow Cliffs in Pleasanton, Del Valle and Los Vasqueros in Livermore to name a few...... Welcome to Cali
