Ok so on my way back from Guntersville I ran through some of that salt spray ( not cinders) on the road through southern Virginia from the recent snow storm we got this week.  It's now coating my trailer, boat, and a little of my motor.  It's my boy's birthday today so I didn't want to be spending anymore time on the boat by washing it off.  I plan to do it first thing in the morning.  I have an aluminum boat (doesn't rust), but I have a painted trailer with a fresh coat of wax.  I was wondering if any of you guys know how long I have until this does some serious damage.  

 

I already know that I should get this off as soon as possible, but I'm just hoping it doesn't do anything bad overnight.  

You should be ok.  The sooner the better, but if you have waxed your painted trailer, it certainly shouldn't cause any damage.  If the salt is just a dry film,  it cannot do much.  The problem is when it stays wet/damp, then it can damage any bare metal.  Get to it as quickly as you can, but don't fret if it takes a few days.
