Any opinons on this jig, specifically the mini mop. What is your choice of trailers. Being that the skirt is very long, do you trim it?

I haven't tried the mini-mop, but I've used similar jigs with good results. Don't trim the skirt!

I just bought one as well. Not trimming skirt, considering a baby paca craw for the trailer. Not sure yet. The trailer is what I am having an issue deciding on

My most used style of jig. Both the mini and regular have caught me some huge fish. I prefer the booyah A-Jig however due to the vertical line tie vs the horizontal tie on the buckeye jigs; comes through filamentous algae and vegetation better. I don't trim the skirt on them. For trailers I like paca craws/rage craw/lobsters for the most part, that's not set in stone though.

Buckeye mop jig has accounted for the majorityl my 4lb+ fish over the last 3 years. Rage craw was last years trailer and will be again this year

do you guys trim the craws at all? I typically will trim a few segments off my craws for a trailer. I would assume since its such a big jig you would leave it full.

i prefer to use a havoc pit boss for trailer on my buckeye jigs.

I've never used the mop jig, but I do use the Hippy jig made by Northstar which is very similar. I love it's big profile and  I almost always use a full 4" craw on it. It screams big fish.  

As a trailer I like the baby Paca. But try this trailer,take a Netbait Dirt Dawg and put it on backwards.So split the legs and enter the hook between the legs and push up the shaft of the hook so now the little legs should come out of the side of the skirt.And I cut the head off that sticks past the hook but you could leave it on it would not hurt. I have fished this on my jigs for two years and the bites seem to be harder with the Dirt Dawg on vs. other trailers! Them skinny paddle tail legs drives them NUTS.

I'll cut the skirt just below the hook and then trim the sides up on a 45* angle. I like to use a yo daddy craw as a trailer. I'd use any craw you have confidence in though.

i picked up the mini mop...i put a yamamoto flappin' hog on...it looks awesome....its been too cold here...but hopefully next weekend i'll get to try it out.
