Check Out My Deep Crank/football Jig Rig

Featured Replies

Less than $100 invested. It is sensitive enough for 1/2 and 3/4 footballs, heavy carolina rigs, and makes a great deep cranking setup, which is what I actually set it up for. The Power Hump Grip is a perfect match to the round reel and is overall a comfortable rig to fish.

Is that a musky rod?  Im not a fan of round reels especially for jigs since I like to palm my entire reel. Gets the job done though.

I dont use the same rod type for deep crankbaits and casting heavy jigs... In my setup those two rods are nearly opposite

My thoughts too.

However, it WILL WORK. It is a graphite rod with a fast tip so you just need to keep in mind to not rip the hooks out.. and give the fish a second to take the bait. I did it for a while before i actually got crankin rods with a slower taper.

Love the reel you put on it. Its a tank

Nice setup! That reel is the best reel for the money ever made! Of course that's just my opinion!
