By "slide" do you mean that the hook pivots on the Palomar knot? If so, that can happen as the knot is on the eye, a round part, and therefore, subject to movement, up or down.

Could easily happen if you use a heavy worm or such, or if you get a lot of short strikes which pull the worm + hook down.

Let me know if I'm understanding you correctly or not.

When you tie the knot run the tag end down through the eye again.  This will hold the hook out straight and prevent it from sliding around.

mc6524 is right. Make sure you're running your long "tag" end back thru the hook eye.

Yea I made sure to run the tag end through the eye...I will see how it goes tomorrow

Do you mean that the knot is off center of the eye of the hook? If so, this happens to me and has not affected my hook-up ratio.

Yea that is essentially what I am saying, that is good to know!

What size or lb test line are you using?

The Palomar knot is very popular, however difficult to clinch tight without flattening the main line at the knot and that will weaken the line, ending up loosening or breaking FC line.

Use more line then normally used to tie the knot and be very carefull to keep the loop double line even so it doesn't cross over itself. Wet the line before tightening and draw it down carefully, then when snug, wet it again before clinch the knot tight by pulling on the tag end only. Position The hook upright and clinch it tight a second time by pulling both the main line and tag end. If the hook point is facing down instead of upright, then put the tag end down through the hook eye to rotate the hook point upright or retie.

Gamakatsu size 1 is a good size hook for nose hooking drop shot worms. The size 1/0 is a larger wire size compared to size 1, what size worms are you using?

Just using the 4 or 5" robo worms...it isn't a big deal though it seems to work perfectly fine in the water

Size 1 maybe a better choice for the smaller finesse worms. Also take a look at Owner #5133 size size 1 for weedless rig, I use both Gamakatsu size 1 and the Owner 5133 size 1 with Roboworms on 6# FiC.

Whatever works for is OK.

I have experienced the same "problem": the tiny Palomar knot will sometimes move around the eye of the hook.

Readjusting it is not a big deal, but I've found that instead of a Palomar, tying a doubled uni-knot, as Aaron Martens does, eliminates this problem.

Tying the doubled uni-knot is way more work than the Palomar, though.

Just check your knot, by giving a firm tug, enough to pull drag, on the hook, and then another tug on the tag end, and you should be good to go. I do this after aver fish, or 10 or so casts.

I agree about the doubled uni being a good knot, it's what I use for drop shot, which is to say, for about 60% of my fishing. While it IS more work, empirically speaking, I find once you've learned to tie it, it takes about the same time, and it is, I think, an easier knot to tie CORRECTLY. Lots of people let the loop on the palomar slip down as it cinches and that leads to a weaker knot. The doubled uni is a great knot for your application.
