Quantum guys and reel techs I was given my uncles quantum baitcastig reel looks to be from the 80s maybe early 90s. It has the push button to the right of the spool As opposed to the thumb bar directly behind the spool like the newer ones I am used to. I am an avid fisherman and use almost exclusively baitcaster a but I can't get this one to cast more than a couple feet. It seems that the spool is getting stuck has this happened to anyone else and does anyone have an idea as I what might need to be done?

dissasemble and clean and inspect it.start with spool bearings.is it magnetic brake?check spool tension for being to tight.

Shot in the dark, but might be 1310 mg. This was a pretty good reel in its day. One of the more reliable Quantums. I'd do just basic cleaning, oiling, etc, and see what that does. Could be so many things. Gotta start somewhere.
