What Do You Think? Is This The Same Fish?

I went out this morning for a couple hours.  I only managed one fish but it was a nice one.  As a matter of fact, I could swear it was the same fish I caught about a week ago.  I caught it within a couple yards if not feet of where I caught the first one and it hit the same bait, a SK spinnerbait with a tandem willow/colorado config, although it was in a different color.  I was thinking maybe a bedding female and I just happened across her bed both times but I don't really know enough to say that for certain.  The lily pads are pretty thick even though the pic doesn't show it I'm not really sure if this would be a good spot for beds or not.  What do you think?  Could this be the same fish?

Did her mouth look like she'd been caught before?

My old man used to mark them by making a very small slit on a side fin with his knife. He caught many a fish again. Or else someone was doing the same lol

I didn't really notice or even think about it at the time.  I just thought it was odd that it looked to be about the same exact size and was caught right around the same area.  In hindsight, maybe I should have took the second picture up against my rod like the first one.  Would have made for a better comparison.

Its possible. Rockchalk, brings up a good point. Were there any marks  in he fish's mouth that showed it was recently caught? Looking at both pics there is a mark along the gill plate that looks similar.

IMO, it is the same fish.  Too many similarities.

Yea to me it looks like the same fish.

This has happened to me a couple times I even caught the same exact fish on back to bak casts, some bass are really greedy.

It appears to be a different fish... anal fin is different, lateral markings are not the same and a couple of head features are different  :)   WTG!

They look different to me, but I've caught a few fish several times over on my waters.

Either way, Ill take a fish like that any day whether its the same one or not.  This little patch of lily pads has really been producing for me over the past couple of weeks.  Too bad it'll be too overgrown to fish from the bank soon.

Very possible. I have caught the same fish a number of times evidenced by spotting patterns on the body seen in photos. I posted something about that here a couple years ago, complete with circles and arra's.

In fact my PB I caught twice, released her twice, then my buddy caught her in the very same spot the next year and she was his PB too. C&R works.

It is. Look at the black spot and line at the very bottom of the gill.
