Just wanted to say thanks for the video post on how to remove a hook when you get one stuck in you. My partner in a tournament this past weekend buried a treble hook in his hand. I remember watching a video on this website on how to tie fishing line to the hook, and how to properly "snap pull" the hook out.

 

The hook popped out with little to no damage, only minor bleeding and swelling. Kept on fishing! Too bad the only thing he caught was himself!

 

Keep up the great work and postings - this is the most informative site on the web. I'm on it every day.

Yep, that method's been out for years.  Nice little sling addition.  I just used a doubled fishing line. 

 

Took a hook out of my buddy's hand, and later, out of his 8 year olds hand (it had a one pound bass dangling from it......first, remove the bass!)

 

The real trick is that it is better for someone ELSE to do it to you, because you might flinch and not jerk it out hard and fast enough.  It has to have a hard, fast jerk!   I tried to do it gently with the 8 year old and it really hurt....then I just jerked it and it came out.  No pain.

 

Amazing and strange, but it works.

I saw the thumbnail for this video on youtube and it looked like he was using light wire hooks... I was wrong.

It's 23:26 L  and time for bed, how am I going to get this subject out of my head so I can sleep?  I bet I know what I'm going to dream about tonight; luckily I know how to change channels.
