Making A Bass Spinner

Featured Replies

i am doing a school project on making bass spinners and i really need some cool ideas if you have any please reply thanks

What sort of spinners are you looking to make? Spinnerbaits, inline spinners, or....? There are quite a few guys here that can help you out, depending on what you are trying to make.

google is not broken i just cant seem to find the right website for how to make bass spinners

Check out tackleunderground.com. Everything you need to get started will be in the 'Wire Baits' section of the forum. (Please read what's already there. e.g. Don't just join the site and post a thread with a generic question like this one. Use the search feature and read.)

If you're seriously  going to make your own spinnerbaits, it is going to require forming wire and melting/pouring molten lead. If you are trying to make inline spinners or the like you don't need the lead molding stuff, but you'll still need a wire former or a good set of pliers and a strong steady hand (and lots of patience.)

We were genuinely trying to help you, but we're not mind readers. Your question is about as vague as it can be. The website I linked to is the best tackle making website on Earth. What exactly do you want to know that you can't find there?

This.

Wish there was a sage mode so I didn't have to bump this thread. ;)

...You ask for info on "spinners" and the other members posted just about everything you need to know about every common spinner variation.

then you say "yeah but I'm making actual bass spinners"

What in your mind is an Actual  bass spinner? your going to have to post a picture because what you are asking no longer makes sense.

You could tie two bass together with rope and spin them above your head like some kind of aquatic ninja?

Aquatic Ninja, that would make an awesome name of spinnerbait or Soft Plastic. You need to get with Big O and have that be the name of the next Rage Tail bait

I would buy it by the pallet if they named it that lol.

So once again how can we help you?

A bass spinnerbait is composed of a few basic componants.

To truly make one from scratch you would need to pour hot lead into a mold and bend stainless wire. What I and many do is buy the head/hook/wire assemble already painted. You only need to bend a loop on the one end and add a swivel and blade. A skirt is then either made or bought premade and slipped on.
