Duckett Rod Owners.

Featured Replies

I'm thinking about getting a Duckett crankin rod. It there a big difference between the micro magic and the Ice ? Or are they close to the same but just marked up cause it has some pro's name on them ? What else do you use it for other and cranks and traps ?

Thanks

I can't offer to much insight, on the differences but it was because of price i went with Micro Magic, usually i keep my rods at the $100 range, but i really wanted to try a Duckett, and i really liked the "black" instead of the cork handles. But i went with the Micro Magic and it is now my favorite rod of my current bunch.

I love my ducketts. I have a heavy and a medium. The heavy feels like my old spinning combo I got. They are ridiculously light. I have never tried the white ice ones but these micro magics are awsome. I have the split grip ones.

don't know much about the ice but currently own 6 of the micro magic 5 casting 1 spinning haven't tried the spinning yet but as far as casting cant go wrong with the micro magic light and very sensitive

I've never held the ice rod, but the single best purchase I've made on fishing gear was my micro magic.

Awesome in every sense of the word.

I have both, and can say for the extra $40, go with the white ice series.  IMO, its totally worth it.

Bigfish, can you explain to me why ? Thanks.

I prefer the handle/reel seat on the ice series, and i also prefer the blank and upgraded guides the white ice series have.  Some do like the magics over the ice, but i am not one of them, both are great rods though.

I've got two, a 6'8 cranking micro with my chronarch for my squarebills, spinnerbaits and 7'0 heavy micro/ curado e7 for my jigs and Texas rigs. I love both and the best investment I've made..
