The Murkiest Of All Water!?

Featured Replies

Hello please help me! I am fishing tomorrow and unfortunatly it poured rain all day today and our pond flooded and the visibility is literally 1/2 to 1 INCH!!

Let me know what you guys throw in extremely mirky/muddy conditions

water temp 60-70 deg

Partly cloudy,calm winds

THANKS EVERYONE

Black. And Charchuse. Noisy and vibratey. That a word? Vibratey?

Also, your avatar is sidewayz...

Chartreuse, orange, yellow spinner bait with large blade.  We used to call that our "Mardi Gras" spinnerbait.

A chartreuse and white one with gold blades will do.  We have LOTS of murky water in South Louisiana!!

How big of spinner bait?

i have a 7' medium action fast tip rod

and a pfluger 6.2:1 spin reel

3/8 oz is a good size. Or on a spinning setup 1/4 oz

Spinnerbait with large Colorado blades. Gold/Chartreuse. Anything that will displace a lot of water.  If you start flipping, go dark. Black/blue or Junebug colors.

Dynamite when all else fails.

Make noise, move water, and use bright or very dark colors.  The bass will hugging be hugging cover.

When the water is as turbid as you are talking about, I have found that the best bet for me is to go big and flip and pitch cover.  You may not get a lot of numbers that way but if you pitch a MOP jig with a big trailer (Ragetail Lobster or something like it) all day to cover you usually catch a few solid healthy fish.  And you just may catch Big Bertha.
