Suffix 832 Vs Power Pro Casting Difference

Featured Replies

Which do you believe casts farther?

The same. Both are great braids and I use both.

If you're asking 832 vs regular PP, the 832 casts farther because it is smaller diameter and smoother.  If it's 832 vs PP Super Slick, I think the 832 would cast roughly as well but has a little smaller diameter for the same test rating.

I've only used 832 so far, but I will soon buy the Power Pro.

832 I have had the least problems with, that has become my favorite braid. what they said, softer, thinner rounder = stronger!

niether one.

Exactly how is this even worthy of the discussion?

To the OP, I have and use both and in the same pound. I really can't tell a difference in distance, but the PP slick sounds better coming through the guides.

If everything else is the same I doubt you would notice any difference in casting distance unless you are using really light weight baits 1/4 oz or less. I have tried suffix braid, sufix 832 braid, power pro, power pro slick 8, and diawa samurai braid the only real difference between all of them that I noticed was smoothness. Some are louder then others but I never noticed any casting distance difference. All braids are soft after you break them in after a couple of trips and they all lose their color over time. So far my favorite braid is the diawa samurai braid.
