Strike King Rage Tail lures

Featured Replies

hey guys I just ordered some strike king rage tail baits from *** because of the 15% off sale.  Anyways I bought the anaconda, the eeliminator, and the smokin' rooster.  What I want to know is how to really fish these baits.  I mean the conditions or the best ways to fish them.  I've read about people texas rigging them or carolina rigging them but there is always a different way to fish them.  Here in so cal the fish pressure is insane, that's why I decided to go with these lures.  Anyways I was wondering what are the colors that produce for you guys.  Clear water colors? or dirty water colors?

I fish with the Craws, Roosters, space monkey, and Anacondas.

For what you ordered I do this:

Smokin Rooster:

T-Rigged 1/8-3/16oz sinker

Carolina Rigged with a 1/2oz

* I like to tip the tails and arms of it with some chartreuse JJs at times*

Anaconda:

I use it T-Rigged only personally, I like to coat it with Megastrike, and JJ's at all times ;)

I use them around brush and deep man made structure we put out.

Hope this helps

there's dozens of posts about every rage tail bait with thorough instructions, and they also come with detailed rigging instructions.  take a quick look through this forum, you probably don't even have to go to the search function, there's a few on the first page alone.

If it was me I would be dragging the eel every chance i got carolina rigged. I have caught fish with every color. I love that bait!!!!!!!! I have also had allot of luck t-rigging the the craw and also carolina rigging the anaconda. you can go to ragetail.com for more info on each bait and rigging instructions.

thanks guys I will search around, but here's my final question.  Did I buy the right colors?  For the anaconda I bought the bama bug and green pumpkin, for the eeliminator I bought pearl and blue glimmer blk flake, and for the smokin rooster I bought bama bug and green pumpkin.  Now will these colors work for the lakes I"m fishing.  One of the lakes is ultra clear I mean super duper clear, you can see right to the bottom of the lake.  Then on the other lake it's so brown that you can only see about 3-4" down.  By the way I think I know exactly how I can fish the lures.  I've watched a few videos on these rage tail and can't wait to try them out.

The shad is one of the best topwater lures in existance, has an action in between a buzzbait and a jitterbug, hooks fish well and comes through cover as slick as snot. It's the only one I've used, but I heard the craws and chunks are fantastic jig trailers, the toad is another great topwater, and the eeliminator can be fished from the surface all the way to a carolina rig.

So far green pumpkin and white have been the best ones for me.
