Question About A Lure Treatment

Featured Replies

I've used a particular product to add a garlic scent and a chartreuse coloring to my plastics. I've used it with some success until yesterday when I went to dip the worm in the treatment only to see it dissolve my plastic baits........it wasn't hot ( I keep it well below 95 degrees). Anyone else have this experience? I like using it but I don't want to dissolve my plastics...... :dazed-7:

Certain plastics and certain scents don't mix. Be more specific and someone will tell you "Yes you can" or, "Don't do that".

In mi view, MarkH called it here. Have to make sure the chemical properties of the plastics will not be adversely affected by exposure to the make-up of the scent. Also soft plastics do break-down over a very long period of time. Need to be alert to the age of the plastics as well.

If you used elastatech in JJ's, well, thats pretty funny...Not laughing at you, but remembring when I did it.

I've had a similar experience with Spike It. Melted the claws right off of my craw.
