Funny Froggin Story

Featured Replies

So I was out at my local honey hole and decided to throw the spro, my plan was to throw in on the bank across from me and have it hop into the water. I have had some great blowups using that method before, what happend next I wasn't expecting. As soon as my frog hit the bank a bull frog was on it like white on rice, I popped the lure hard enough to evade the frog and into the water, didn't stop the bully, he jumped in after my frog. As I'm burning the spro back toward me a BIG bass came up and pounded that bull frog hard. Needless to say I really wish it had been my lure, but I didn't mind seeing such an awesome strike either. Just wanted to share :)

That bully frog learned the lesson that most bullies eventually learn....there's always someone bigger and badder out there

How big was the bass you think?

Hard to say really, I would think it would be safe to say in the 4 lb range. It was an awesome sight.

Ha...awesome!  Jerk frog got what he deserved.

A friend of mine pointed this out to me when we were fishing last summer. He's had it happen a lot in the past. A bullfrog came after his River2Sea frog while we were fishing. It was quite hilarious to watch as this frog was trying to hump his hollow body, and both of them got hit by a 2 pounder. He set the hook, his lure and the frog came out of the fish' mouth and we watched that horny toad go flying over our heads.

He seemed to be ok when he landed in the water on the other side of the canal. lol

Thats awesome to bad he didnt hit your frog though!!

Funny and a good story, I thought it was going in the direction of the frog ate my fog..

The girlfriend actually caught a frog on a frog last year.  It was very territorial and was chasing her bait all over a little lilly covered bay.  I'll try to get a photo uploaded later.  Frog left our baits alone after he got caught, imagine that.

I use the same method with long, snake like worms trying to mimick a snake goin into the water at my buddies pond. Well one day i throw my worm in the mud by the bank and go to swim it in and a snake gets a hold of my worm and wont let go no matter how hard i pull. So i paddle over there (in my kayak) and see this about 2.5 ft long water moccasin holding on to the body of my worm and refusing to let go. so i lift him up with my rod and hit with paddle until he let go. Bout made me pee my pants
