Balance
Being a tall guy my balance has sucked all my life and so I tend to sit on my boat to fish when there is lots of wind and or boat traffic. I have almost fell out twice in the last month just by walking around...

Livewell Myth
That was his point on why he wont recommend any live well products for fish because there hasn't been any studies on the effects of humans consuming said released fish, a thought that never occurred to me, not that I use any live well products but still interesting.

Yamamoto yamatanuki thoughts?
I have tried the smaller size and larger size, different colors in several bodies of water and no luck, using open hook and jig head and Texas rig, fishing like a wacky worm, jig and nail weight. I love the shimmy it has but I am not sure if its the extra size the fish don't like when they will eat a wacky worm with no issue.

Livewell Myth
Recently watched the bilge podcast with the BASS director of conservation and he had several great points about fish health, two of those really stuck with me. ~One, he cant support any products for fish care because they are not FDA approved. In fact one of the best that is no longer on the market caused cancer, something to think about when we release these fish back into the wild, they have the potential to be consumed by another human. ~Two, and I think is the best information for any tournament angler is keeping the live well water roughly 8-10 degrees cooler then the lake dramatically increases the chances of long term fish survival.

Bait fuel
For me when bait fuel shines is when they bite and then drop the bait, OR you know fish are there and they wont bite. I have used it several times in the situations above and it works. Another trick that worked for me this year was bedding fish, if they wouldn't bite, I put on bait fuel and got em using the same bait that they didn't bite the first few times..

Berkley Nessie 5" Question
SMB love this thing (5") BUT hookup ratio is horrible, its a shallow water bait, claims slow sink but its basically buoyant on 15# coploy. Already lost a left eye on it, with that said bait has potential with modifications. Going to try 12# floro and maybe a larger hook, which will help it sink.

Wheeler
What a treat to watch the master flipper Greg, he goes on to talk about southern fisheries and bass suspend under matts and up north they are on bottom, not 5 minutes later catches one suspended under the grass matt! Love watching this type of fishing!!

NPFL - Lake Hartwell -FFS vs Sight Fishing
Love how many the cameras they have and that you can watch at once! IF they also had a full screen displaying the guys using FFS that would certainly add another level. Kyle Welcher is trying to target bedding fish, to me not much difference between watching someone look at a screen to catch a fish, and him trying to get a bedding fish to bite, thoughts?

Have You Ever Caught A Snapping Turtle...??
Hooked a few while fishing, most memorable was flipping around a stump and T-H-U-M-P, thought I had a 10pounder, nope just a 30# snapper in the mouth!

I always hear people say that smallmouth will hit moving baits all the way down into the low 50s, but I have not found this to be the case at all
Susky river month ago hammered SMB on Jerbaits, underspin's, jigs. Biggest fish 3#s plus came off a jerkbait 3 second pause. Local lakes LMB temps under 45F caught them on chatter baits and jerkbaits. My son using a ned rig caught a few more then me all smaller. SMB I will fish for topwater in mid 50s, bass are more aggressive in cold water then you think, especially in a warming trend/sunny. When they are targeting fish oriented prey its easier with moving baits, which around here most tend to do in the spring and late fall.

St John’s River
Its funny that sight fishing is OK, but using FFS ISNT? What is the logic? Without using proper eyewear and head wear sight fishing isn't easy, analog technology so to speak.. Should FFS be limited, of course, allow 24" of total screen size on the boat, just like a motor is restricted, restrict the size of total screens. Do we know if Crews had this spot already marked?

Current Favorite Drop Shot Baitfish / Flat Worm ?
I am a huge fan of max scent baits. Fish certainly hold on but still drop it, I was catching dinks so curious to see how long they held it, maybe 5 seconds(using the max scent flatworm). I didn't have a normal plastic to compare but thought that they would have held it longer. I also like the fact its bio-degradable and good using as a trig because its so soft, hook easily pernitrates. Fish were odd that day only got bit on popper, flatworm got some dinks, nothing on a jig.

Why do I suck in Tournaments
I find my self doing better when fun fishing as well, could be the body of water for me.. Ultimately it boils down to discissions, slow down, downsize, speed up , different locations, junk fishing, depth, cover, structure, offshore, shallow, SLOW DOWN, lol.... I am always going over these when I fish, just more of a rush when I tourney fish.

Does topwater scare fish?
It all depends on the mood of the fish, I have witnessed a small ned rig scare off bass, certainly have had small poppers with same results. When fish are in these moods not much works.. I have also had a popper scare off a small mouth and still come back and hit the lure.

Do you feel like smallmouth fishing has gotten progressively worse over the last couple years?
SMB are an invasive species, sadly most bass are. I recall an article specifically about SMB and the susky and thinking about it had something to do with a train maybe carrying tons of them that crashed and released them in the river.. I didnt know this till a few years ago but literally every sewer plant dumps into the susqy, "after the waste water is cleaned" of course but that's why the susky has an odd odor from these plants as they smell just like it. For a long time in central pa sewage was the main polluter until the Chesapeake bay forced everyone to get the clay, cracked, leaking pipes fixed. Fracking now will have a huge impact I am afraid. Yourtuber, I cant recall his name but he fishes below Harrisburg where its only catch and release and came here and fished where its not and he said the average size is allot smaller here.

Chime In On This Age Old Debate
Based on the poll SMB, but specially river smallies are hard fighters, peacocks are not bad either but pound for pound not like a river SMB. Muskie, pike, pickerel don't put up a fight in my experience, just weight.. Strippers only ever caught in saltwater so cant compare, speaking of saltwater, Snook on the other hand woah those pull and don't give up, however a large jack hands down my hardest pull, or the bonnet head shark but that was a 4'-25pounds vs 10 pounds maybe. Hooked into a tarpon for all of 10 seconds and it tossed my lure 50 feet back at me I bet they are nuts on a line. Saltwater fish are just another level of fighting, the poor mans tarpon(lady fish) love catching them all days long.

Ultrex heavy vibrations
While I didn't replace I took off the blade and leveled out the shear pin and its running much better, I also tighten the nut a bit more and seems to be much better! Thx for all the responses!

Ultrex heavy vibrations
The shaft is some type of fiber and straight from what I can tell. I do have a weedless version I am going to check it tonight, looking at a new one I recall the u shapre on the one blade and I think mine is missing. Mainly if my batteries are going why I am concerned about speed.

Ultrex heavy vibrations
My Ultrex 80 is pushing 5yrs old and has had allot of learning bumps and bruises, while at slow speeds vibration isn't "bad" anything higher then 6 vibrating gets bad, sharp turns also vibrate bad. Speed seems about same in the past maybe .2mph slower then new. like 2.9 from 3.1mph Spot lock seems to be the smoothest. I just cleaned the prop shaft at start of season and this isn't a new issue, been going on for a year or two. Do the blades get unbalanced? Any thoughts? Thanks for any guidance.
