Has anybody had any luck finding smallmouths on the big lake near Rochester. Seems to be dead zone these days. Ship builders? Hedges? near Irondequoit? 

J Francho would probably know best. I'm getting them in the tributaries in Lyndonville in Orleans county. My 4 year old got 2 yesterday in the 10 minutes we fished the one spot one was about 2.5 lbs the other 2lbs. They are in all stages of the spawn in the tributaries though some are spawned out some are still on beds.

It's like a desert out there.  Can't find anything.  The bays are on fire, though.  Find warm shallows, near deep water, in coves that feature strong secondary points, and you will smoke both the LMB and SMB.

Ive done great in the bays but have been missing the smallie action on the lake...tons of laregemouth and qccasional smallie in the bays

I usually catch a few in the spring at the ibay outlet bridge in the spring, but none yet this year. Wish we could fish around ginna...
