Deadly Jig Tips Must Read

Featured Replies

What do use as a trailer? Chances are not one of these things. I'm sharing my secret tips that helped me land a 5-8 smallie last year.

My secret trailers:

the paddle tail of a banjo minnow.  forked design offers amazing wiggle on the fall. This bad boy is responsible for that 5-8 smallie.

Zoom trick worm 7''. one slight mod here. Get a pair of scissors AFTER threading it on and cut a slit down to where the worm meets the hook. Split tail bass killing action is at your fingertips.

Cut a Castallia bombshell turtle in half and stuff it on a jig. There is no better way to fish that log IMO.

Blue on white. IDK why but that color combo is just KILLER on my lake. If there is a science to it let me know please.

Beavers are awesome texas rigged but they make great trailers too. I bet you all knew that one though....

That's all..... but here's a BONUS spinnerbait tip. Tie a small jerkbait to a trailer 18" behind a spinnerbait. Rapala floating minnows are deadly.Reel fast and hang on. Bass like to hammer the little "stalker".

Not sure where you live, but these guys are pretty common around here and much of the eastern states.

I`ll try these tips on my next outing thanks.

Dee Thomas showed the split worm deal in his video back in 79' before the trailer craze thought of starting. Good then, good now. Great tips and welcome to the forum if no one has told you !
