Shakey Head With Big Hooks

Featured Replies

This summer, I was thinking of throwing a Mann's Jelly Worm on a shakey head instead of a Texas Rig for deeper waters. Does anyone know of a company that makes shakey heads with maybe 5/0-7/0 hooks. I would also prefer a screwlock for the worm. Thanks for the help!

I know someone who will make them for you...up to a 5/0 EWG on a football head with a screwlock.

A bit of overkill for a shakyhead in my opinion but hey, I aint fishin with 'em.  ;D

May I suggest trying a longer plastic worm and a 4/0 or 5/0 hook for your shaky head presentation?

A ribbon tail worm may meet your criteria.

A trick worm or Swamp Crawler can also be used.

I like the trick worms and Zoom Swamp Crawlers on a 3/0 or 4/0 weedless hook.

The weedless hook will allow you to throw the worm into all types of structure and not get snagged.

Dip the tail end of your worm in JJ's Magic yellow or go for a combo of colors to create lime.  Just the tip of the tail to give it some color.  ;)
