Prefishing

Featured Replies

When pre fishing for a tournament do I need to worry about catching fish today that ill need a week ahead?

3 things I'm looking for when I prefish.

1.Finding fish-Find a limit, find a kicker, find a spot to upgrade. If I find one or two keepers at a spot, I move on to the next. No sense in staying since you already know they are there.

2.Finding a pattern-Find a general pattern. This may change depending on differences in weather conditions from prefish and T day. On T day, the fish should still be in the vicinity of where you caught them during prefish, but you may need to adjust presentation depending on fronts that have moved in or out.

3.Not finding fish. -Not finding fish allows me to eliminate non productive water on T day which makes for better time management.

Yeap I do the same. I have my best success at finding places I Won't! be fishing on TDay. I think more then anything it provides confidence. The fish can move for any reason but going into it you know the area can produce.
