Anyway, I would like to put a foot controlled trolling motor on the bow of the boat to work the coves of a few local lakes. How would I go about putting this on the boat?

Can you buy a transom mounted motor and some how turn the head around and use it on the bow?

Yes, transom mount motors can be used at the bow with the head turned 180 degrees.

 

A boat that small has limited room for a foot controlled motor and surface to attach it to the boat.

 

There is also a foot controlled transom mount motor available too. That has less hardware.

Absolutely, just a single screw to loosen on my motor. You might want to rig up a rudder for the stern, those boats don't track very well at all, especially in the wind. Look around this section of the site, there is a thread that is about 50 pages long filled with neat customizations that guys have done to their Pelicans and other plastic models. I run a transom mount with the head turned 180 in my Bass raider, works great. Not much room in those boats, a foot pedal IMHO would be in the way. Heck it's in the way on the deck of my tracker too, so maybe I am not the guy to be asking LOL

However you mount it, make sure (depending on thrust) you have an appropriate size fuse installed from the battery to the plug, if your using one. You can find articles online that give you the proper location in the length from the battery etc to make it as efficient as possible.
