My spinnerbait rod is currently spooled with 12# Tatsu.  Worked great this past weekend.

As far as I am concerned, mono and especially Fluorocarbon are phenomenal for bass fishing. 

 

Braid would work well for grassy situations. In reality, braid, fluorocarbon and mono can all be used for spinnerbaits. I am not a huge fan of yozuri, but it actually gets the job done well in this area. 

 

thats what i have been noting on the answers of this thread... right now i use braid for worms, mono for cranks, and have fluoro on my spinnerbait rod...  i was thinking if this was a good line or if i should change it to braid/fluoro leader, since i plan on using that combo also for jigs and as a backup for worms... in the past i used 14# mono with good results, since i fish the spinnerbait mostly as a reaction bait, the fish were hooking themselves without me having to set the hook much...

In case anyone is worried about knots....Tatsu holds an improved cinch knot just fine. Well enough, that I use it to quickly retie spinnerbaits in last Saturday's tournamament. We came in 3rd. .29 lbs. out of the lead. The only break offs were from pickerel.

I use both flouro and braid for spinner baits, depending upon conditions. 

 

I like using #50 braid if fishing thick grass like kissimmee grass or pepper grass.  If the spinner bait gets hung up, just pull straight back and keep fishing (I notice I get a lot of my bites, when that bait "rips" out of a snag...reaction strike).  I like the braid for this kind of fishing, also, because braid really transmits vibration well (when taut) and you can easily tell if you have some vegetation on your lure.   You want to use a long, med action rod with a fast tip for this kind of fishing.  You want some compliance in the system to keep the fish buttoned up, since the braid doesn't stretch. 

 

For open water/clear water, I like using 12-14lb flouro.    I think I get more bites than I do with braid when fishing in the open/clear water, and the flouro runs a little deeper.

30# braid if I'm using a crankbait action rod like my Team Daiwa S  or 12#-15# mono when I'm using a rod like the Crucial spinnerbait rod witch is a lot stiffer. I almost never use floro for spinnerbaits I don't think I need it as it is a reaction bight. Been using Seagaur Senshi for a while now and like it a lot. Don't get me wrong, Floro has its place for me just not spinnerbaiting.
