Received my state award for catch and release of a Sunfish over 9 inches long.

 

Caught it on 2 lb.  test line and a Rapala Original Floating Minnow F03  1-1/2 "

Nice job! I wish Iowa was 9", ours is 10". I have had quite a few over 9" but the best has only been 9.5" this year.

I never saw an arrow catch a bluegill before. Nows the time to break that, it's the second spawn up here and plenty of 10's+ to be had!

Congrats! It's 12" here in VA for a citation. Wish it were lower, but the crappie fishermen down in southern VA are catching mammoth bluegills every day. I caught a few 10"ers this spawn season, but still hunting for that citation. Good for you on finding that big one!
