For stocked trout, you can't beat Berkley Trout Bait. Stocked trout are raised on trout chow and aren't used to natural baits. A little chunk of trout bait on a hook under a bobber works as well as anything.

They stock the creek by my house every fall.  I've done well with 1/8 oz. Roostertails and small crankbaits like the SK Bitsy Minnow.  Never fished Powerbait but pretty much everyone else around here does.  Ideal gear would be a light action rod and 2-4 pound line.  But if you don't want to buy new gear just for one camping trip, there's no reason you cant use a medium rod and spool up some 4 pound line on one of your reels even if its rated for heavier line.

Canned sweet corn and minature marshmallows.  Fishing for stocked rainbow trout is just like fishing for carp and they taste just about the same, too.

1/8oz little cleo. Cast it out and either start a slow retrieve immediately or let it sink to whatever depth you think they're holding at. Make sure you use a small snap with a good swivel to avoid line twist. Another option would be a slip sinker rig with a blown crawler so you can catch trout and cats.
