Fishfinder Transducer Question

Featured Replies

I've been offered a Lowrance LMS 334c but he's keeping his transducer and power cord for his new unit.

I assume the power cord will be easy as pie. But the transducer is 70-100 bucks from what I've been seeing online.

My boat is rigged up right now with a Humminbird transducer. I just went out and took a look at it. There is no factory number or specific markings on there to tell me what exact model of Humminbird was on there. But I can show you a picture of the plug in. Is this a universal-type plug in, or a Humminbird specific one (which is what I would guess it is)?

That will work on the 300, 500, and 700 series HB units. Won't work with Lowrance

That's what I figured. Companies gotta make money and making things comply with other things is against the laws of moneymaking.

I dont think thats the case here, the power cord you have works on a TON of Humminbird units. They're two completely different companies with products in competition with eachother, so naturally their power sources are going to be different.

That's exactly what I mean. They're in competition so they make their stuff not comply with the other guys' stuff. Simple moneymaking strategy.

Also, consider giving Humminbird a call if you have any questions.  They've always been great to me over the phone with customer service.

The power cord (one the right of the picture) is the PC-10 Humminbird part for Humminbird units.

The part name for the transducer is on the cable about 12" from the plug. It works only with discontinued Humminbird models. That transducer does not have a temp sensor. It takes at least a 3 pin plug to be a temperature sensor type of transducer.

The cable collecter part of the quick disconnect mount (held in place by the two screws) will not work with any current Humminbird models. The mount itself works with a lot of Humminbird models, current and discontinued.
