How Do You Like Your Minn Kota Talon?
No doubt you'll enjoy it! Let me recommend the quick disconnect, sold by minn kota. If your going to anchor in a spot for an extended amount of time, and want to save battery juice, you can disconnect the cables by unscrewing them. Super easy to install and worth the money. Let me know if you'd like to see pics of mine!

Bass Tracker Pro 160
My recommendation... I would go for a decent aluminum boat like a Tracker for your FIRST boat. Reason being, I have made many entry level boater mistakes with my Tracker 175 that I would not want to make with an expensive fiberglass boat! Things like putting it on its trailer and going a bit too far and breaking off the transducer for example! Just my opinion! Also, with a big engine like the ones on Triton's and Ranger's come big fuel costs!

If Your Even Thinking About Retractable Transom Tie-Down's Get Them!
Could you post some pics of it on your Tracker trailer? I have a 175 and would like to look into these. Thanks!

Boarding Ladder For A Bass Boat Anyone??!
Gents, Thanks for the input! Unfortunately I don't have a jackplate and mounting that twist step wouldn't work for me, which is too bad because it looks like a good little boarding ladder. The windline ladders may be more my style, but for $120... geez! I appreciate the help fellas!

Boarding Ladder For A Bass Boat Anyone??!
I was wondering if anyone can recommend a ladder that works with bass boats. There are a few spots that I can park, jump into the river and swim around a bit. Getting back into the boat is a bit of a challenge. Any recommendations?! Here's what i'd be putting the ladder on:

Also, consider giving Humminbird a call if you have any questions. They've always been great to me over the phone with customer service.

Want To Add A Power Pole To Bass Tracker 190 Tx
I'd recommend the talon, bud. Check my profile pics for how mine looks on my tracker 175. No extra battery, hydraulic pumps, etc. I added a quick disconnect from minn kota for when I'm sitting around, anchored down and don't want to use an battery power the whole time.

Bass Tracker Pro 160
Have you consider a tracker 175? I bought a 2012 175 last year and like it. It's a great entry level boat for sure. I've made some mistakes with it, like ripping a transducer off loading it on the trailer, hitting sumps, etc. I could not imagine doing that with an expensive triton or ranger fiberglass boat! Although very nice, I'm glad I didn't invest in one for my first boat. Here's a pic of mine before I put a talon on it.

Good Humminbird With Sidescan?
I recently bought a 598 ci si hd and love it! I do wish the screen was a bit bigger, but for $899 plus a $100 rebate, I couldn't pass it up.

Mercury Engine Problem
Yes it should have, but the shady-ass dealership I bought the boat from didn't provide me with one.

Mercury Engine Problem
Gents, Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. I have gone through some areas with serious wood debris and some vegetation, but I had no idea it was this bad! Below is a pic of a temp bulb pulled form my engine today. As for flushing my engine after each use... im embarassed to say that I did not know about that and I think this is the result of ignorance! I appreciate the help.

Mercury Engine Problem
If anyone has any input on this I would greatly appreciate it. I have a Mercury outboard 60HP fourstroke thats new as of october of last year. I got it it's 20 hr service and have had no issues with it at all. Last weekend I suddenly get the 6 second steady horn. I throttle back, come to a stop and break out the owners manual. It pretty much says turn around, your day is done. I take it to a local shop that services mercury, pretty good guys. After doing the engine download im told it was an "e-stop guardian overheat" and they couldnt replicate the issue using just rabbit ears in their shop. Today they will be putting it in the water to test it under a load. If they cant give me a better diagnosis, does anyone here have any ideas on what it could be?? Has this happened to you before and if so, what was the outcome? Any help is appreciated! Heres a quick pic of the engine... pretty new.

New Boat What Add Ons??
I've got a 2012 175 and there is just enough space for two batteries and no more. Maybe if you rebuilt the inside and put a third battery rack in there somehow. I agree with Martins comment that a 45 lb TM is not good in the open water. That's what I have and I barely creep along in open water, especially if there's a current.

New Guy In Clarksville, Tn
Hi, I'm currently stationed at Fort Campbell and live in Clarksville, TN. I found this website a few days ago and like how it's setup and how friendly and helpful people are on the site! I've been fishing since I was a little kid. Born and raised in Germany, I've fished for mostly trout and carp. I've just gotten into bass fishing in the past year and really enjoy it! I've fished from here in TN all the way down through Alabama and into Florida. As for my gear, I've got a 2012 tracker 175 TF with a 60 Merc, 8' minn kota talon, and a huminbird 598 ci si hd fish finder. I haven't gone too crazy on rods/reels but I'm using Johnny Norris bass pro combos for my bass fishing, and a good ol' ugly stick for crappie, catfish, and bluegill fishing. I'm always looking for new spots to fish and have some good spots to share on local lakes/rivers! Thanks!
