Erie Trip With Son!

Featured Replies

Well so far we have fished two days up here and so far so good. The rain and storms have made it a little tough but we are catching some good fish! The first day we had to fish the bay because of all the lightning but my son caught some good largemouth. His first time ever drop shotting and I think he is getting the hang of it. Today we went out on the main lake a dodge all the storms! We caught some and he caught his first good lake Erie smallmouth. We then caught a few more with a few well over three pounds! We have not caught any giants yet but hopefully we saved the big ones for this weekend for our tournament! When I get home I will post pics after the whole trip!

Hey guys well we had a blast! The weather was horrible but we was still able to catch some good ones! We ended up in 6th place overall for both days out of 18 boats. My son had a blast and did very good to my surprise! He even got to drive the boat around a little bit and was able to load the boat on the trailer even with all the other boats around (there was also another club there with thirty boats). I am a proud dad and may have found a new partner! I am going to post pics just bare with me I may have to post one at a time! Thanks to all who replied and to Dwight for pointing us in the right direction!9b4c2711a396f59ae1f3e13fb0a577ed.jpg

Today second day! Not quite as big but we manage a limit and withstood the 4-5 footers! Only four teams caught a limit today!

Last fish touched at lake Erie this year! Also we were able to release all of our fish alive and well! Fizzing them as soon as we catch them makes a huge difference!

Thanks! It is a awesome place but very humbling when the wind picks up!

Growing up there you hear it is actually the most dangerous of the great lakes because storms blow in fast and the waves react quickly because it is the most shallow of the lakes.

Good looking fish!

Looks like you guys really did well considering the weather. Your smallies looked bigger than the largemouth. Congrats on putting the pieces of the puzzle together.
