When fishing cover or structure with a swim jig, do you let it fall first before the retrieve?

Always. Make sure your trailer will have action in the tail since the fall will be slower that a retrieve. That's why I like the sub woofers from Berkely.

I will cast the jig into the nasty and try and bang it on anything I can. I will let it sink and pop it a few times then try and get it out.

Fishing cover with swim jigs is a blast. Definitely wsnt to use braid and then drop it in and bang it off the structure and hold on for them to blow up on it.
