I just purchased a on board two bank charger.  I have my two 12V deep cycle batteries hooked up for 24V operation. 

 

First,  does the jumper making the two 12V's a 24V have to be disconnected before charging?

 

Second,  can the charger stay hooked to the batteries while using the batteries?
