Grass Minnow

Featured Replies

Anyone using the Huddleston Grass Minnow?

wondering the same thing, hoepfully people chime in ;)

I've bought two. First one a few months ago caught about 7 crappie and a couple bass before it started running really crooked. I got it for super clear water in the end of a slough in the ca delta. Last month I had super clear water again and the bass seemed keyed on minnow type baits so I bought another. It's put about 20 pounds in the boat and is still running strait, if a little ragged.

It flutters subtly when it falls and has a very finesse tail wiggle.  They'll hit it falling, burning it back, and last week they were picking up off the bottom after I let it fall.  This was the only thing working with the roamers on the spawning flats.

I plan on never going fishing again without these in my box.

Up in the Eagle River country. Lots of little lakes around there good for Large, Small, Musky, etc..I go up there every year with my brother in Wausau. ;)

Yeah gonna have to give this one a thumbs up.  Comes through the grass w/o a problem.  Good tourney swimbait.

Have you ever fished Kentuck? Lots of Musky in that lake. Hopefully the muskies will leave the grass minnows alone ;D

What are you fishing it on? Spinning tackle, Baitcasting tackle, what type line? ;)

I have been fishing these for a few days straight now.  I use casting gear, 6'6" MH/XF.  I have gotten lots of hits on the Grass Minnow but for the life of me, I cannot get that hook into bass' jaws.  Everytime I go to set the hook, it feels like its set good, then when the fish is close it spits the lure.  Aside from that its a great lure, I just need to figure out how to drive that hook deeper.

I fished the Grass Minnow for 9 days, never got a hit so I can't attest to the effectiveness of this lure. It sure looks great in the water though....

I actually landed a fish using the grass minnow the other day.  I felt it bite and immediately swung for the fences and got him in the corner of the mouth.  So now I am convinced of the effectiveness of the grass minnow. Now I need to get more...
