Summertime Bassin

Featured Replies

Just for the information for me and others; What type of techniques and rigs should I and others be using for the summertime. Any advice would be awesome. -Thanks guys, TWMstr

At night and early morning your choices are broad you can really throw anything you would like...

Early morning ~Topwater - jitterbugs, damiki d pop, spooks, etc.

Mid Day ~ Bottom - Texas rigs, jigs, deep cranks, etc.

When the water gets over eighty degrees slow down. Try a shaky head and a Carolina rig in deeper water

With all due respect... You won't get a lot of answers to this because with just a few seconds of research you can find hundreds of threads on this.

Start by reading the summer articles here:

I throw frogs almost exclusively as summer topwaters. When the water really heats up I opt for SLOW falling plastic presentations such as senkos. I don't fish reservoirs so my fish can only go so deep.

I use a fake crawler, any type texas rigged and get hits all season up here in Michigan.

I tend to throw jigs in deeper water when it gets hot, but I'm a jig man.
