When I fish with it I texas-rig it with a 1/0 size hook. The problem is that the lure swims really weird (like in a circle) and wants to come up to the surface, wat am I doing wrong??? :-?

Maybe you could slow down a little and not twitch so hard. But I think the action you are getting is a good thing, it should look like a dieing shad.

I use a bigger hook..sometimes a weighted one.

Try a bigger off set hook.

Bigger hook should do it, if not use a weighted one as stated above

There is your problem, right there. Soft jerkbaits are meant to be jerked and twitched in. Use long pauses between the jerks, as fish almost always hit on the pause. In clear water it can be the deadliest lure you can throw at least 50% of the time. Make sure as the others said to rig it dead center. I usually rig the hook in the belly slot. Quite weedless and gets easier hook ups that way.

If you like a steady retrieve try using the new style Flukes with the paddle tail. They seems to work well for that.

If you like a steady retrieve try using the new style Flukes with the paddle tail. They seems to work well for that.

For a steady retrieve, the Swimming Super Fluke on a weighted hook would be the better choice.  The normal fluke, like mentioned, is a jerkbait.  Just gently twitch it back to you.  You can use them on a weighted hook as well, slowly work it back with twitches.  It should dart all over the place.

Some flukes are bent because of how they were positioned in the bag. If the fluke still rolls when it is nose hooked then i try to straighten it with hot water or toss it.

One of my best baits the superfluke, I like the smokin shad color.  I rig it on a 4/0 G-Lock hook, I like the hook on top, not in the belly slot.  Like mentioned above, retrieve with twitch and pause method.  I almost always get bit on the pause.  I think the flukes way of falling is the key.  However, I have caught fish by fishing it very very fast keeping the bait on the surface.

Okay I think I'll try the pause and go meathod, if that doesn't work I don't know wat to do.

Point your rod tip down or parallel to the water surface when you jerk the bait, if you point your rod tip up when you jerk the bait the bait will risee too much and too fast.
