Has anyone used the Mirrolure in He-Dog 95MR yet? It appears to be a

topwater lure like a spook.

I have a twin prop Mirrolure but I never used it yet.

Great lure company - L & S. Been around since the 50's. Back then a MirroLure was considered "top shelf", with finishes much more realistic than anything else in the day. 3-D eyes and detailed, reflective fishes were it's hallmark. Can't imagine why they would not produce as well today.

MirrOlure baits are huge here on the TX Gulf Coast.   They are a staple for inshore anglers.  I have a few of their topwater walking baits and they work great for bass.  Just make sure you know what you're buying, a lot of their walking baits are sub-surface walkers.  You can't go by looks alone.

I use my spooks in two different ways I walk them on the surface or I hole the rod tip

down and crank it faster so it walks under the surface. I've

has the fish grab it in both ways.

Also don't forget about the Paul Brown, they are another great twitch bait.

Mirrolure are speckled trout candy around here, especially the black/gold/orange

I use Mirror lures quite often, after fishing many of their models I have it whittled down to 1, a catch 2000 ( 22mr, I think) twitchbait, sometimes I use the catch jr for bass fishing.

Never used their hardbaits, but CRUSH reds an speckled trout on their soft plastics plenty of times. I'd imagine their hardbaits are awesome too.

I haven't used any of the modern MirrOlures but I do have several of their topwater baits (the two on the top left of the photo). The top one is the twin prop - perhaps similar to yours; the one below it is a floating twitchbait.  I used both in saltwater back in the 60s.

You bet! I bought a number of these in the mid-60s and thought they were great. The photo below shows my remaining baits - all were bought prior to 1967.  The two on the top-left are surface, the three on the top-right are sinkers, and of course the rest are divers.  I haven't fished any of them in 45 years EXCEPT for the ultralight baits and I've caught fish on them recently. I lost one of the ultralight jointed plugs a couple years ago - broke my heart.

 

I need to fish these guys - at least to catch one fish each then put 'em back in the box. Those medium-size jointed plugs (model 15LS) have great actions and were my favorites back in the day.

These seem to be no larger than some of the spooks but for that cost how can I not buy and try them. Some of them have the Orange bottom too. I believe these list for $8/$9.
