How To Fish A T-Rigged Craw

Featured Replies

I was just wondering how to fish it. Do you swim it or jig it or what? I was also wondering if it is better to use the normal gray hooks or if it is better to use red or other colored hooks. Or is there no difference?

Just fish them like you would any other bottom contact bait -- worm, jig, creature, etc.

Hook color is all personal preference IMO, use whatever you're confidant in.

I primarily use these to fish submerged grass with heavy weight (1/2 oz+).  Punch it down there, jig it a few times, reel in and repeat.

In sparse conditions you can cast it out and just drag it.

Perfect 1-2 punch with the same rig.

I sometimes test the top water bite by throwing on a t rigged craw weightless across the top of the water like you would a frog. If that doesn't work I pitch it off the bottom try different techniques to see what they are keying in on. If its none of the above I will throw on a crank to see if they are in the chasing mood

Just have to figure out what works that particular day

In addition to what the other guys said sometimes a sweep of the rod the let it set or a quick 3-4 reels then pause works too. You know u ever seen a craw scurry stop scurry some more
